This article lists some prominent converts from the Sunni sect to the path of Shia Islam. Many of the people listed are from different walks of life. Notice that many of them were either martyred or imprisoned. Infact some of them are still wanted in their respective home countries! This list is not exhaustive but serves to provide insight on just how many people have embraced this beautiful faith and found it superior.

- Edoardo Mahdi Agnelli (Martyred)
Edoardo was the son of the Italian owner of Fiat Automobiles. He converted to Sunnism and then later to Shiism during the ‘79 revolution, to the dismay of his father and was mysteriously martyred. Here he is praying alongside Ayatollah Khamenai. - Ali Adil Shah I
Ali Adil Shah I was a prominent Sultan in 16th century India who converted to Shiism from his previously Sunni orthodox views. - Prince Kabir Bello
Prince Kabir Bello is a professional footballer from Nigeria. He has played in the 2007 FIFA World Cup in Japan. He converted to Shiism after finding it made more sense. - Tajul Muluk (Imprisoned)
- Abdillahi Nassir
Sheikh Abdillahi Nassir is a Kenyan scholar who converted to Shiism during the Iranian revolution and has since become a massive ambassador for Shiism in Africa. - Öljaitü (Muhammad Khodabandeh)
Öljeitü was an Ilkhanid Dynasty ruler in the 14th century. Initially a baptized Christian, he converted then to Buddhism, then Sunnism and finally to Shiism under the influence of Allama al Hilli. - Al Qadi Al Numan (Ismaili)

Sheikh Junayd was the leader of the Safavid order of Sufism in the 15th century and successfully managed to transform his Sufi dynasty to specifically Shia teachings. - Malcolm Shabazz (Martyred)

DeleteI am surprised to realize sheikh Noor has four wives and twenty eight kids,I know of only one wife seems to me I have an obligation to have as many Shia kids as posiible
